What kind of data should I back up?
You should especially back up data that you cannot afford to lose. This probably includes recent customer records, tax information, other business records, and so on. It probably doesn't include movies, cached web pages from the internet, or software which you will have to reinstall from your purchased copy on a new computer anyway, if you have a crash or should your current computer be stolen.
Remember that the information that is critical to running your business is probably only a few megabytes in size, even though your computer may be able to hold dozens of gigabytes total. A gigabyte is about 1000 megabytes, and is the default size of our USB backup media. Please let us know if you need 2GB or 4GB drives.
How much does this cost?
Right now we offer only one plan, $40 per month, which carries up to 4GB of backed up data per month, and stores your data for a year after your latest backup.
Only a year?
We store your data as long as you use our service. If you choose to stop using our backup service, we'll still save your data (unless you tell us not to do so!) for one year from the date of your latest backup. If, during that year, you choose to begin using us again, the gap in coverage will not affect your data, which will remain safe.
Only 4 gigabytes? What if I want to back up all my security camera footage?
While we're able to send larger media, this is currently by special request only. We're evaluating the demand for larger data rates, and may offer a plan regarding them in the future.
I don't have a business, but still care about my data. Can I use this service?
Yes! Anyone can use our backup service! You don't have to have a busines, but you do need a mailing address so we can send you the backup media.
I want to get all my data back every quarter. Can you do that?
Yes! Just let us know about your need, and we'll schedule it.
Where do you offer this service?
Right now we only serve areas within a day's drive of Columbus, Ga. We do plan to expand to other areas in the Southeast. If you're not in our service area, you can still contact us to be added to a list of people we'll contact when we get to your area. We'll never give or sell your email address to spammers,
Do you offer international storage locations?
Not at this time. Contact us to let us know you'd like that!
Do you have a discount for paying for a full year at once?
Not at this time. However, our prices have dropped by more than the discount we used to have, so you're getting an even better deal than that!
What are your payment options?
You can send us a money order, business or personal check, or cashier's check by mail, made out to "RandallSquared". Be sure to include your shipping address inside the envelope, since sometimes the return address can be smeared or unreadable.
For an additional $20, we can hand deliver your first backup media, and pick up your payment from you at the same time. To schedule a delivery, please leave us a message.
Can I just pay C.O.D., since you're shipping me a package anyway?
We're evaluating that at this time. Contact us to let us know you'd like that!
Can I use a Post Office Box?
Yes, you can have us deliver the backup media to your PO Box. However, we recommend having it delivered to your place of business, as you'll remember to perform the backup and send it back more quickly that way.
What if the media or my backup is lost in the mail?
If the USPS loses the USB media in either direction, we will simply send you new media. We know how frustrating it can be to worry about your data being at risk, and we will do our best to get your data backed up as soon as possible. At our option, we may personally deliver the new media to you, to ensure that your data is safe and secure at our backup facilities quickly.
